About

I am an average Czech PhD student currently studying at well-above-average Dutch technical university. The field of my study is signal and image processing in synthetic aperture radar or SAR, for short. This involves some mathematics and some programming. It probably isn’t anything groundbreaking, but I’m having loads of fun doing it.
Most of my research revolves around the Fourier transform:
It is an ubiquitous technique in signal and image processing — an elegant method of mesmerizing powers… My obsession…
Well, kind of… Most of the time, all I care about is that it produces images like this one:
Although this blog might look a little geeky — well, let’s be honest here, I pretty much fit the description of a geek — sometimes, I crawl out of my dimly lit office and go have some fun. I greatly enjoy being outdoors: hiking, camping or just hanging out on the beach. I like to do sports: martial arts, winter sports, swimming, surfing, climbing… As soon as I figure out how to handle this blog thing properly, I’ll post some pictures.
Currently I am about to finish my PhD studies, so, obviously there isn’t much time to do a lot of stuff. The necessary minimum is at least to read a book and to go out with friends every now and then. Pretty standard student life, huh…?
